My work as a journalist is my link to my local community.
In a twice-monthly business column called Shop Talk for the award winning online news journal, Berkeleyside.com, I report on local businesses that are opening, closing or changing in some way. I feel grateful to give a boost to local merchants through my column and provide a link between businesses and the residents of Berkeley, California.
In addition to my regular column, I have written articles on special assignment for Berkeleyside.com on topics relating to interesting people and events in the city of Berkeley.
In an ongoing arts & culture series for the print publications of Oakland Magazine and Alameda Magazine, I interview and shine the light each month on emerging as well as long-time artists held in high esteem in the East Bay art scene. Being involved in this series brings me immense joy and illuminates the deeper trenches of our energized, inspired and seriously thriving art scene. In addition to these series, I have written several other articles for both magazines.
Included in this section also are a few articles published in 48 Hills, an independent news journal based in San Francisco, CA.
